1. "Consolidate" is the English of LCL, which is abbreviated as "console" in international trade and transportation.
2. Generally speaking, LCL cannot be assigned to a specific shipping company. The shipping company only accepts the booking of full container cargo and not directly accepts the booking of LCL cargo. Only through the freight forwarder (some powerful shipping company through its logistics company) can the LCL cargo be ordered from the shipping company. Almost all LCL cargo is "centralized handling and centralized distribution" by the freight forwarding company To achieve transportation, the LCL distribution port in East China is basically Shanghai port. Due to the limitation of the source of goods, the general freight forwarder can only book space with several shipping companies, rarely meeting the needs of the designated shipping company. Therefore, when dealing with LCL, try not to accept the designated shipping company, so as not to meet the requirements when handling the consignment.
3. In the negotiation with customers, special attention should be paid to the relevant transportation terms, so as to avoid that the other party's letter of credit can not meet the transportation terms only after the other party's letter of credit is opened. In our daily operation, we often encounter the L / C stipulation that LCL transportation does not accept the bill of lading of the freight forwarder. Because the shipping company does not directly accept the booking of LCL cargo, the shipping company's ocean bill of lading is issued to the freight forwarder, and the freight forwarder will issue Houseb / L to the shipper. If the L / C regulation does not accept the freight forwarder B / L, there will be no choice in the actual transportation, which will cause the L / C inconsistency. For example, when handling the transportation, we found a consignment note which said: goods must be shipped in container on LCL basis and bill of lading to evidence the same and to show that all LCL.handling charges,THC and delivery order charges at that port of discharges are prepaid。 It can be seen from the original L / C paragraph above that the consignor transferred all the expenses that should have been borne by the consignor to the consignor, which was caused by the fact that the consignor and the customer did not negotiate in detail on the transportation terms during the trade negotiation.
4. The charging ton of LCL should be accurate. Before delivery of LCL goods, the factory should be required to measure the weight and size of the goods as accurately as possible. When the goods are delivered to the warehouse designated by the freight forwarder for storage, the warehouse will generally re measure the goods and take the re measured size and weight as the charging standard. If the factory changes the packaging, the factory should be required to inform in time. Don't wait until the goods are delivered to the forwarder's warehouse and feed back the information through the forwarder. Often, the time is very tight. If you change the customs declaration documents, it is easy to delay the customs declaration, or generate the urgent customs declaration fee and port washing fee.
5. In some ports, due to the shortage of LCL goods and high cost, the freight forwarders who specialize in LCL adopt the minimum charge standard for the goods with less cargo volume. If the minimum charge is 2 freight tons, i.e. less than 2 freight tons, they will be charged according to 2 freight tons. Therefore, for the goods with small volume and partial port, more consideration should be given to such factors in order to avoid being passive in the future.
6. For some LCL goods with remote routes and ports and customers propose to deliver them to inland points, it is better to consult with them before signing the contract, and then sign the contract after confirming that the shipping company and freight forwarding company can undertake the delivery and related expenses of these remote ports and inland points.
