In order to strengthen students' understanding and understanding of the position, under the leadership and strong support of both the university and the enterprise, 79 students of the Sino-Xiamen Marine Class of 2022 went to Shandong Jiaotong University, the crew training base, to visit and study in the training room from April 9 to April 22, 2023, led by Wang Huaijun, Secretary of the Youth League Committee of the School of Mechanical Engineering, and teachers Jia Zhizhang and Zheng Li. In the ship simulation driving training workshop of Shandong Jiaotong University, the teachers carefully explained the operation of ship driving, the inspection of instruments, the issuing of various commands, and the implementation of various operating specifications. The students conducted steering training on the simulated steering platform, practicing professional practical skills such as rope skimming, knot tying and flag lighting. During the visit, the teachers talked about the sound and color, and did the standard; The students listened with relish and did a good job. After the careful visit and study, the students have a deeper perceptual understanding of ship navigation.
The students of the China-Xiamen Marine class board the "Hometown of Overseas Chinese" in Weihai Port for a round trip ship knowledge practice. Captain Xing and Manager Ju from the Ministry of Tourism introduced the basic information of the cruise ship to the students and led them to visit the bridge, engine room, deck and cabin of the ship. The engineer of Qiao-xiang cruise ship explained the Marine machinery such as diesel engine, oil dispenser, boiler and hydraulic equipment to the students in detail, so that the students had a preliminary understanding of the Marine equipment and an intuitive perception of the working environment on board. Captain Xing focused on the safety facilities on the ship, so that the students in the course of the ship sailing, can be in line with the rules, careful in action, establish a high level of safety awareness.
The director of the hotel Department of Qiaoxiang Cruise led the international cruise crew management students to carry out a very rich on-the-job training. Starting from the morning meeting of the front office to correct the working attitude, the students learned the dining culture such as table manners, tableware setting, stacking of flowers, welcome etiquette, front office service, room service, cruise hygiene standards and implementation in specific positions. They carried out all-round practical cognition of the position, real scenes, on-site teaching, students felt face to face, they expressed a lot of feelings and gained a lot.
Through the two-week cognitive practice, the students of the class said that they had mastered many knowledge and skills that they could not learn from textbooks. I deeply realized that there is a certain distance between the actual job and the knowledge in books, and further study is needed to consolidate the foundation and make full preparation for the blue.
